Update: Opera 9 has a widget for Pandora. I’ve got it set to always on top and stuck it in the corner of my secondary monitor. I’ll keep it there for now while I’m refreshing my knowledge of artist names and song titles.

Jeff told Rob, and Rob told me to try out Pandora’s new music service. Based on an artist’s name or song title that you provide, Pandora searches the Music Genome Project to find other music you might like. (more…)

marshallkirkpatrick’s blog post on NetSquared yesterday is a perfect find for those hunting for a bookmarks manager: “Tips on choosing a social bookmarking tool” starts with del.icio.us (owned by Yahoo now - did you know?), and includes Furl, Ma.gnolia and MarkaBoo.

I started with del.icio.us yesterday, imported my bookmarks from Firefox, took one look at the mess it made and spent an hour trying to delete and reorganize. I ended up deleting the account and starting over - this time importing no bookmarks. (more…)

Anyone tried this yet? Google’s come out with a sync for Firefox settings, including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords. It claims to slow the start time of Firefox - and of course Google gets to know more about me because you have to have a google account to play. (more…)
